For all those interested in such things, we have a surprise outing scheduled for this Monday! (July 15th)

We’re going to Fun Depot in Lake Worth.

From 1:00 to 4:00 pm we can avail ourselves of all the funs they have to offer.

3 hours of unlimited go carts!

3 hours of unlimited arcade games!

3 hours of unlimited laser tag!

And as an added bonus, if anyone wants to eat before hitting the Depot we are meeting up for an Indian lunch buffet.

12:00 pm at Flavor of India near Fun Depot.

However, before we go I do need to get a head count. So please take a minute to click some of the options below as soon as you can.

You want to come to the Depot?

  • 0%Yes. I love fun!

  • 0%Sadly no. Let's not make a big deal out of it.

What about lunch at noon?

  • 0%Yes! My favorite lunch is a free lunch.

  • 0%No thank you. But I did appreciate the offer.

Also, in boring old non-LTA field trip news, the midyear bonuses will be out this week.

While not as much fun as an afternoon of laser tag, I am happy to say that we are able to distribute a historically massive 50% raise in this year's midyear bonus.

Last year the bonus came out to around $2.00 an hour. This year we are able to push it to over $3.00 an hour. This is due to two things.

We have an increase in revenue. The tables are more full this year with people betting more on average. But also this year a larger percentage of profit is being allocated to the mid year profit sharing. In lieu of traditional raises this year we are increasing compensation in other areas such as the midyear profit sharing and an increase in the SEP IRA.

(But team building laser tag is kind of cool too.)

2 small things.

1) The Vanguard deposit that was recently put in your IRA is from the last quarter of 2023. It would be the equivalent of 17% of everything you made from October through December, including your profit sharing bonus. The 2023 IRA deposits were supposed to be 15%. But it was a good enough year that we were able to up it a bit.

2) This year’s Rooney 5K is taking place on March 30th. LTA will gladly cover the entry fees of anyone interested in participating. It is a leisurely 5 kilometer run, jog, or walk that ends with a free french toast breakfast and a free beer. The only downside is that it is fairly early in the morning and on a Saturday.

If you have any interest in taking a morning stroll with some of your coworkers, as well as getting some money to some local charities, please let me know.

If you are reading this then the profits should have been shared.

Bottom line, we did not lose money this year. In fact, hour for hour, everyone made more money this year than they did last year.

If you want a slightly more nuanced story of the LTA year, then I have written about it in the forum that we do not use, and probably never will (until Celebration X starts).

Information about LTA’s 2023 profit sharing can be found here.

To access the forum though, you will have to remember your password and sign back into the website as a member. If you can’t sign in let me know.

Also while we are here, I would like to thank everyone who shared some part of their Christmas with us, either working or enjoying our traditional hibachi lunch at Saito’s.

And contrary to what some people thought about the arrival photos taken, and how they were grouped by time, they were NOT meant to shame anyone. They were merely a chronicle of the people who showed up on time.

No passive aggressive undertones.

(But if you WERE curious who showed up on time, here are the pictures…)
